Funny Face

We took some time out to play in "Grammie's river" (a.k.a. Lake Norman) this weekend. Blan took the opportunity to entertain us with his funny faces. We think he may have taken in a little too much lake water.

Mission Impossible

The beautiful weather on Saturday prompted us to take a bug seeking adventure at Lakewood Park. It's pretty nostalgic taking Blan for walks on trails where my childhood friends and I used to ride our bikes, pretending to have our own adventures. While we didn't accomplish our mission of finding the perfect bug, we did have a great time enjoying the park.

Happy Father's Day!

We enjoyed a wonderful time with family today. The weather was beautiful - perfect for pool time at Papa Tom's and a boat ride and swimming at the lake! Poor Blan is worn out!

Meet Tiny.

We are very pleased to introduce the newest member of the Morrison family - Tiny. Tiny joined our happy clan this week and Blan couldn't be more thrilled. It took him hours to decide on the name. I'm not so sure how content Tiny is about his uprooting from the large tank at the pet store and Blan seems to be in tune to the fish's emotions. He is convinced it's already time for a larger bowl and accessories for Tiny's bowl. He informed me that Tiny is "growing up fast." Welcome, Tiny!

Tweetsie, Thomas and the Tilt-a-whirl

We took a trip to Tweetsie today to see Thomas the train. What a fabulous and beautiful day! Blan was totally mesmerized by it all. We rode Thomas, the chair lift (he loved it!), the carousel, the mouse train, the race cars and even the Tilt-a-whirl (he actually asked to ride it; it took no time for him to figure out it was not his favorite). We also got to feed the llama, goats, deer and miniature horses. Needless to say, he was wiped out by day's end. His final request was to "just stay at Tweetsie."

Our Mighty Mite!

Mighty Mites Spring Soccer '07 came to a close today (Thank you, Lord). While Blan has thoroughly enjoyed the season, poor "Coach Daddy" is about worn out -- it's tough trying to teach 3, 4 and 5 year olds the fundamentals of his beloved game. Blan didn't see the need for much ball contact. However, there was plenty of running (or chugging) aimlessly on the field. There was no lacking a supportive fan base, either. I don't think Uncle Josh missed a game! Thanks to everybody who came out - Grammie, Pop, Mimi, Poppie, Papa Tom, Uncle Jody, Jacob, John, Aunt Rita and Aunt Steele! We finished 1-7, but we made some great new friends and had some wonderful laughs! Here are a few photos from the season.

Blan turns four!

It's hard to believe Blan is four years old. We enjoyed a solid week of celebrations the last week of May (most of which involved his beloved trains). Thanks to all of our family and friends who traveled from near and far to join us in celebrating. You are all a huge part of Blan's life. While he is the size of the average 6 year old, we still see the sweet baby we so longed for. The time has flown and each day brings laughter and change. We are incredibly thankful for the gift we have in him. Happy Birthday, Blan!

A special request -- Grammie's miraculous Thomas cake! Blan is giving his best "choo choo" in this photo. Thanks, Grammie (and Pop, too)!

Uncle Angus and Aunt Allie came all the way from Colorado!

Blan wanted rice and beans for his birthday dinner. While he was not very fond of the celebratory festivities (including singing, clapping, and a birthday polaroid) provided at our local mexican restaurant, he was fine once he took his first bite of sopapilla and the mexican birthday sombrero was removed!
