Happy Father's Day!

We spent Father's Day at the lake with Grammie and Pop. It was a great day filled with boating (with Blan as our captain), swimming and a delicious meal!

Happy Birthday, Uncle Josh!

One of my favorite things about living back in Statesville is not missing important events in our family's lives. Josh and Steele are happily settled into their wonderful new home about 2 miles from our house. We all got together there to celebrate the beginning of the end of my brother's twenties on June 10th. Happy 29th birthday, Uncle Josh!

It's Tweetsie season again!

We got season passes for Tweetsie this year. It's so close and Blan loves it. It's been interesting to watch him gravitate towards different attractions at the park as he's grown. He is less interested in the train than last year, but he's found other things to occupy his interest.

Ahhh... a man, his son, and the shooting gallery.

Being silly on the carousel.

Wiped out.

The Party

Blan's birthday party was held at Queen's Landing with putt-putt (of course) and bumper boats for all!

I'm not sure who had more fun - the kids or the grown-ups.

Happy 5th Birthday, Blan!

FIVE!!! I find it hard to believe. I am so appreciative that I have been there for Blan's every change and milestone. Yet, it's hard for me to look at him, thinking of that long fingered, helpless little newborn and take it all in that he's that very baby now about to start school. I am blessed, challenged, amazed and taught by him daily. I look forward to the next five years; watching him grow, change, and learn. Happy birthday, Mr. B!

The Beach

We took our annual beach trip a little early this year. We took off after Blan's big graduation to North Topsail. It was a beautiful, carefree week with just the three of us. It couldn't have been any better!

Putt-putt with Daddy.

An evening run on the beach.

Does this picture of Blan on the the beach crack anyone else up? Is it screaming 1978 or is it just me?

We took a trip to the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores on Memorial Day.
